Pickering Series 100HC High Power Dry SIL/SIP Reed Relays

October 25, 2021

Pickering Electronics, the reed relay company which has pioneered miniaturization and high performance for over 50 years, has released a new series of reed relay products – Series 100HC High Power Dry SIL/SIP Reed Relays. It is rated for 1A switching at up to 40W and up to 3A continuous carry current. This series has an internal mu-metal screen to reduce any complexities that would otherwise arise due to magnetic interaction when they are closely stacked.

Kevin Mallett Technical Specialist at Pickering Electronics commented, “The Series 100HC offers over double the coil resistance of other similar products and the continuous carry current specification of 3 Amps can be increased in pulsed current applications.”

The higher coil resistance also results in reduced heating giving Series HC reed relays a thermal EMF performance less than 10μV. The new collection of reed relays are excellent solutions for high power applications and can be used as a substitute to mercury wetted reed relays. Devices are available with 5, 12 or 24V coils with optional internal diode and with one or two switches in a single package.

Features of Pickering’s New Series 100HC High Power Dry SIL/SIP Reed Relays:
• Up to 3 Amps continuous carry current
• 1 A switching at up to 40 W
• Highest quality instrumentation grade switches
• High coil resistance for low power consumption
• Thermal EMF levels less than 10 μV
• Stacking on 0.40 Inches pitch
• Internal mu-metal magnetic screen
• Form A (energise to make) or Form B (energise to break) configurations
• Additional build options are available

Product part numbers offered include:
100HC-1-A-5/1, 100HC-1-A-5/1D, 100HC-1-A-12/1, 100HC-1-A-12/1D, 100HC-1-A-24/1, 100HC-1-A-24/1D, 100HC-1-B-5/1, 100HC-1-B-5/1D, 100HC-1-B-12/1, 100HC-1-B-12/1D, 100HC-1-B-24/1, 100HC-1-B-24/1D, 100HC-2-A-5/1, 100HC-2-A-5/1D, 100HC-2-A-12/1, 100HC-2-A-12/1D, 100HC-2-A-24/1, 100HC-2-A-24/1D
